Day Pads With Customizable Absorbency
Both the GladRags organic reusable pads and conventional cotton day pads include a holder and two inserts. Customize your absorbency by choosing the number of inserts you add at a time. Or, go without inserts for an ultra thin pantyliner. In terms of absorbency, the day pad is equivalent to a standard disposable maxi pad when both inserts are used.
The use of more inserts will increase absorbency. The original day pad insert length measures at 7.5 inches, and for extra coverage, the day pad plus measures 9.25 inches. Because you can customize your absorbency with the inserts, both the organic reusable pads and conventional cotton pads are great for using during the day!
These cloth pads are hand-sewn and designed to be highly absorbent and prevent leakage. They have the same side-protection as the wings on disposable products do, but these pads just snap on rather than stick on. Simply change your reusable pads about as often as you would your normal disposable pads, but without the waste!
Feel great about your purchase by knowing that you are supporting a woman-owned company that gives back to the community through donation campaigns and period supplies sponsorships for those in need. Products made by GladRags are high-quality, and are designed by and for menstruators! GladRags hopes to spread period positivity and help empower vulva-owners through sustainable products and relevant education.
Conventional Cotton and Organic Reusable Pads
GladRags is a great choice for sustainability, as none of their products nor packaging contain plastic. By switching to reusable menstrual products, you’ll help reduce the amount of waste in landfills and oceans from disposable products. And, you’ll rest assured that your menstrual products are free from plastics, chemicals, fragrances or other harmful materials.
All of GladRags cloth pads come in two options for each size, conventional and organic reusable pads. The only difference is the type of cotton used. Both are great body-safe options, but for those who are looking to take their sustainability efforts even higher, they may want to choose the organic option.
Non-organic, conventional cotton pads are made with the cotton commonly used for bedding, towels, and children’s clothing.
Organic cotton is cotton grown without the use of pesticides or herbicides, reducing the chances of pollution into soil or water from such chemicals and is healthier for farmers, too! Purchasing organic cotton helps support healthier agricultural methods. And because these products are reusable, you are being even more sustainable (than say, organic cotton disposables for example) because they will last much longer and will not end up replaced as quickly!
So for the best effort towards body-safe ingredients and sustainability, you’ll want to try the organic reusable pads and receive leak protection for years to come! Or if conventional cotton is more your thing, they are also a great sustainable effort with plenty of absorbency to offer.
Prices start at $14.99, and may vary for each type of day pad (original, organic, plus).
