Many people experience bladder leakage. However, did you know not all bladder leakage is the same? These insertable bladder supports are best suited for those who experience urinary stress incontinence. This means if you usually only experience leakage when you jump, laugh, dance, exercise, cough, or sneeze; these may be a great fit for you! Enjoy going for a run, a gym session, or out with friends without worrying about leakage!
However, if you experience other types of bladder leakage such as urge urinary incontinence, meaning you leak when you have a sudden urge or rush to urinate; these may not be a good choice. Be sure to consult with your provider about your bladder leakage, so you can understand your individual needs, support options, and possible treatments. For those with stress incontinence, these can be a great non-surgical solution to preventing leaks while you address your incontinence with your pelvic floor provider!
Soft, Flexible, And Comfortable
How do these work? These bladder support devices are small, flexible inserts that you will insert into the vagina. These are not absorbent! Instead, the special shape of these inserts simply help push against the lower portion of the urethra (small tunnel where urine leaves the bladder and the body), preventing leakage from your bladder. These allow you to comfortably and discreetly prevent leaks while you do what you love! These come in 3 different sizes, for low, medium, or high levels of support.
They are wrapped like a tampon and insertable like a tampon, for ease of use and familiarity. However, as mentioned before, these are not absorbent. Similar to tampons, these feature an attached string for easy removal. Removal of these bladder support devices is not difficult, and is as simple as removing a tampon.
These insertable devices are designed to be supportive to the bladder, simply preventing light leakage, and will not stop you from being able to urinate while they are inserted. You can use the restroom (including bowel movements) as normal while a support is inserted. However, remember to remove these inserts before sexual activity or after wearing it for many hours. Poise Impressa inserts can be worn for up to 12 hours and should not be reused. These bladder support devices are disposable, one-use items.
